  193. the Notepad or Commentary via the "Paste" function.  
  194. To use the grabber, move the cursor to the upper left corner of the text 
  195. you wish to grab.  Press <Alt><F4>.  Then move the cursor to the bottom 
  196. right corner of the text.  Notice that a reverse image box indicates the 
  197. text to be grabbed.  Press <F7> or <Ctrl><F4> to copy the "grabbed" to 
  198. the Paste buffer.

  211. The Associator is designed to allow you to find words in the same or 
  212. different Bible versions in a given verse that have a significant number
  213. of occurances with a selected word.  Within the same Bible version, you
  214. can check and see what other words in a given verse tend to occur with a
  215. word you are studying.  With different Bible versions, you can use the 
  216. Associator to help you determine how one word is translated in a different
  217. version.  
  218.  
  219. We suggest your practice using the Associator on the same version or on 
  220. two english translations until you become familiar with its capabilities 
  221. and limitations. Keep the following comments in mind:
  222.  
  223.   The frequency of a given word has a significant impact on the    Associator.
  224.   High frequency "noise" words such as 'the', 'and', 'of', etc. tend to 
  225.   find other noise words and are not too accurate.  Similarly, very rare
  226.   words tend to primarily find noise words.  Between these two extremes, 
  227.   the Associator seems quite accurate.  
  228.  
  229.   The Associator uses the current defined search range to allow you to
  230.   examine "associations" within segments of the Bible (the writings of
  231.   John, for instance).  Generally, a small range will lower frequencies
  232.   and may create "rare words", reducing accuracy.
  233.  
  234.   When "associating" with the GNT, SeedMaster automatically masks off the
  235.   Old Testament references for your source word, even if the OT is part
  236.   of your currently defined search range.  This makes GNT associations 
  237.   accurate.
  238.  
  239.   Correlation is computed by taking the percentage of Coincidence for a
  240.   given word and dividing by the total Coincidences for all words with 
  241.   a Coincidence of at least 1%.  If more than five words have that signi-
  242.   ficance (rare), they ARE taken into consideration in this computation.

  252. The Search Statistics provide a book by book and chapter by chapter summary
  253. of search "hits".  Initially, Search Statistics displays a book by book list,
  254. also indicating the percentage of the total number of search verses to the
  255. right of the number of hits.  This percentage is calculated using simple
  256. integer math, and is subject to a small amount of rounding error.  If you
  257. press <Enter> on a book, the underlying chapters will be displayed.  If you
  258. press <Enter> on a chapter, the search list will be advanced to the first
  259. verse within that chapter.  If there is no hits within that chapter, the 
  260. search list will be advanced to the nearest verse.
  261.  
  262. Search Statistics can be used to quickly advance to other hits within a
  263. search list.

  285. *ENTER WORD/PHRASE*
  286. Enter the word or phrase words you wish to search for. If you are 
  287. searching a Bible text, you can use the "*" as a wildcard at the begin-
  288. ning and/or end of a search word. For instance, you can use "*lov*" to 
  289. find "beloved", "loved", etc. The "*" is not used when searching 
  290. Resource files (Commentary, Scofield, etc.).
  291.  
  292. If enabled and you enforce "Word Order" (General or Literal), make sure 
  293. you enter the words in the desired order. If you enter only one word, 
  294. "Word Order" option is irrelevant.
  295.  
  296. Notes: Punctuation symbols are ignored for searching purposes.  The only 
  297.        exception is an apostrophe imbedded in a word (such as those indi-
  298.        cating possession i.e., "the lion's mouth").  Apostrophes at the 
  299.        end of a word are ignored, since they sometimes indicate possession
  300.        and other times reflect other grammar - such as the end of an im-
  301.        bedded quote (i.e., Genesis 20:5 (NIV)).
  302.  
  303.        If you use the wildcard symbol "*" at the beginning of a search 
  304.        word, the search will take longer, since SeedMaster must search 
  305.        through every word in its word list, looking for the word root.
  306.  
  307.        STRONG'S NUMBERS: If you have the STR Database or a compatible
  308.        Online Bible database with Strong's numbers, you may enter 
  309.        Strong's OT or NT Number(s) to search on ANY Bible version--and
  310.        you can even combine Strong's Number(s) with other words from 
  311.        that translation. (Word Order ignores Strongs' Numbers.)

  394. in SeedMaster (trails).  The menu defaults to your current trail.

  396. *MENU HELP*
  397. The SeedMaster menu is grouped by major function area (File, Edit etc.).
  398. The menu items are listed beneath each function area automatically.  Not all
  399. menu items are active at all times. Active items are displayed in the
  400. high intensity mode of your monitor. Inactive items are displayed at
  401. low, or normal, intensity.
  402.  
  403. To move to another function area:
  404.      Press the <Left> or <Right> cursor keys.
  405.  
  406. To select a menu item:
  407.      Move the reverse image bar over the desired menu item (with the 
  408.      cursor control keys <Up>, <Down>, etc.) and press <Enter>.
  409.      Or, press the highlighted (or underlined) letter of the menu 
  410.      item description. It is not necessary to press <Enter>.
  411.  
  412. Once you select your menu item, the menu will disappear and SeedMaster will 
  413. perform the task you selected. After the task is complete, you may bring up 
  414. the menu again by pressing the <Alt> key.
  415.                 
  416. You may quit the menu (not selecting a menu item) by pressing <Esc>.
  417.  
  418. A brief description of each menu item follows.  The area in which it operates 
  419. is in parentheses and coded as follows:
